Staking
A vast majority of the trees we produce at Schwope Brothers Tree Farms are staked for a portion of the production process. Almost all of the stakes we use are made from fiberglass. This is a new technology for our industry, and a true break-thru. The fiberglass tree stake moves with the tree when the wind blows. This discourages damage to the bark of the tree and also encourages proper callipering of the tree because it is not dependant on the stake for support. These stakes allow us to produce perfectly straight trees every time, and also serve as a guide for the leader as it grows. We currently have around 100,000 fiberglass stakes training our trees to be straight day and night.
